This should be an interesting one! When I was a young boy, when my curiosity was at its peak, I questioned a few things, things that took time to understand. I knew that but I questioned these things anyway. Most people are introduced to religion by their parents, and I was no exception to that. We read the bible at school, and church, and whenever we got the chance to, I was taught about Jesus the one called the Christ, An interesting question was if Jesus was all these good things why did people conspire to kill him, Oh make no mistake my brothers, Jesus was put sentenced to death because his own people conspired against him. He knew this but he also knew the nature of man!. For a long time, I questioned this, it was not until later in life that I found the answer. I did not have to look far, but what we do to each other today. The “backbiting” the hatred against one another, the greed, the selfishness. The funny thing about this is that most people will deny these things. This is why certain shows on TV thrive because it goes not only expose the nature of man but how man has built a culture around these very same ideas that he claims are wrong. Even in those days, Jesus told Peter, “you will deny me”, instead of Peter speaking the truth and saying, “Hey those soldiers can kill me, ” he lied and said he would never do such a thing, when we go to church we are told that the fact that Peter was sorry makes it ok, but I say the fact that he did this makes me question human nature. Is almost as if we love to do evil, the truth is, evil towards our fellow man can be bad but if we really believed in actions and punishment, No one would do it. We even have a term called necessary evil. which makes sense. If anyone has heard about the frog and the scorpion, That story talks about nature itself. So I ask the question? Are we evil by nature? Someone said ” We must admit there is a certain good feeling that comes with doing evil, were it not so no one would do evil” Go to church on Sunday, and you will find people who claim if Jesus walked amongst us, they will never do what was done to him back then, but we all have to ask ourselves this question, How many of us have been double-crossed, betrayed, stolen from, etc? I leave this question to you, my brothers and sisters! Are we Evil by nature?
