Homelessness, Public Health Emergency, Uncertainty!

This is a very serious issue, and we are not talking about it enough, The great Bob Marley once said “ who feels it knows”.  these few weeks we have our politicians talking about irrelevant issues, and of course, the circus of trying to find out what happened on January 6th, after most of us are feeling the economic pinch. Inflation is at an all-time high, Gas is $3 a gallon. We are in an economic crisis, and we are not out of the woods yet in regards to this pandemic.  We don’t know if there will be another lockdown since we are being advised to mask up again.  I don’t think the economy can take another hit when it comes to this pandemic.  The experts don’t know what to tell us, we have one Senator who just tested positive for Covid even though he was fully vaccinated, yet even he made a statement that contradicted what we were told,  he said If he hadn’t got the “jab”, be would have been worse off, never mind that is we were told that wasn’t supposed to be possible.

I just found that that the eviction moratorium expired on July 31st, 2021…. As usual, the politicians gave us a runaround, the president, of course, passed it on to congress, congress is busy trying to enact a 2700 page bill that has nothing to do with this emergency. The president can actually do something with the stroke of a pen, but that is highly unlikely.  On August 8th, 2020, the previous administration signed an executive order to at least halt evictions. (Executive order 13945) So then the question becomes if ( God forbid) there is another lockdown, you know a stay-at-home order, well with the expiration of the eviction moratorium, the people who got hit the hardest won’t have homes to stay in.  Of course, Congress did what it does best!!.. Go on vacation !!!! Summer break!!!!! Funny how the mainstream media is not talking about this at all. They keep telling us over and over again about January 6th. Ask anyone facing homelessness if they care about January 6th especially since that event is history.
