It is almost as if we wait for our heroes to die before we recognize them, or we are told to recognize them. I believe in the latter, because we had 8 years of a black presidency,  we still had to wait for the white man to make Juneteenth a Holiday… REALLY????? No one asked why that wasn’t done ?????

“We had 8 years of a black presidency,  we still had to wait for the white man to make Juneteenth a Holiday”

Now before I forget, we don’t agree with a statue of Dr. Carson because we don’t like him simply because he supports Donald Trump, and worked in Trump’s government. Never mind the fact he performed a groundbreaking surgery and he is still alive.

Think about it all George Floyd did was make money for organizations like Black Lives  Matter.  Aren’t we the same people who say the white man deliberately leaves out inventions made by black people, He perfected a kind of surgery that served as a blueprint for many years? This man built on the legacy of Dr. Vivien Thomas, the black man who cured the blue baby syndrome, we need to recognize this man regardless of his political ideology, he was a doctor first! Took an oath to save lives before he got into politics.

To end this,  I think we should learn to appreciate our heroes while they are still alive, People who actually contributed to society. we should stop supporting people who became heroes by default.
