They are suing for $100 million. New York State and New York City paid out $36 million to two men who were wrongly convicted for the assassination of Malcolm X, this happened 3 years ago. When I read this I was not too surprised but something just didn’t sit right with me about this whole issue. Number 1 is the timing,  if these two institutions, namely New York State and New York City paid out this amount only 3 years ago, that means someone is asking, where is my cut? Then I saw Ben Crump.  As much as admire Malcolm X for his fight for justice, I don’t think there will be another like him, I also think there is something wrong here, I listened to Ben Crump’s speech and in the speech, he did not say anything about bringing the ones responsible for his death to justice, he is talking about compensation and settlements. This is what he said and I quote, ” if the government compensated the two victims then what is to be the compensation for the daughters of Malcolm X, ? Again is almost like, where is my cut? Now to be fair to them, the government did conceal evidence in the case. Again he is talking about Compensation, he never seems to tell us how much his law firm will make from all these “settlements and compensations”.   I understand the family being compensated, a few questions  I have are, Who killed Malcolm X and why ??? That will be the greatest Justice of all!!. Was it a collective effort by just these organizations? who was their inside man or woman???

This money will come from the taxpayers of New York State, and New York City,  it won’t be from anyone’s pocket which means none of them will lose anything, the most important question of all will be, is this really justice?? . Instead of just suing for money, shouldn’t there be an open investigation, including all organizations that Malcolm X was associated with ???

A few people will attach themselves to this and see it as some sort of justice or victory for black people, I already see a few people saying this will be on behalf of FBA/ADOS when Malcolm X wasn’t born from an FBA/ADOS womb. That couldn’t be further from the truth!!!!.

Welcome to Black History Month! http://selfequanimity.com/welcome-to-black-history-month/ Sun, 05 Feb 2023 01:00:16 +0000 https://selfequanimity.com/?p=1964 What a great start to black history month, We couldn’t ask for anything better.  WOW, we started Black history month with a bang.  There was a big church funeral/service. Our beloved civil rights leader Al Sharpton, gave the Eulogy, Eric Garner, George Floyd, and Breonna Taylor’s families were invited, and Kamala Harris decided she was black that day.  Hmmmmmm It was almost like a celebration of some sort.

Let’s remember Rev Al is the same one who didn’t know Trump was racist until he became President.

Trump and Al Sharpton
Trump and Al Sharpton

You couldn’t ask for a perfect start to black history month, This whole event was perfectly put together to the point where one has to wonder if this whole thing was a celebration or a political event of some sort.

Al Sharpton &  Kamala Harris

It might sound crazy but it seems to me that we only identify ourselves through misery and pain. Almost as if we only identify blackness with pain, after all, misery does love company.  Make no mistake I’m not justifying what happened, in no way will any sane person do that, but we cannot say the end justifies the means in this case. What we do know is someone is going to get a big payout at the end, we just don’t know who yet.

Do you know what will be very interesting?  If the family had asked, all, including the politicians that this event is made private, and also the prevention of making this a political affair. Now,  that would have been a shocker to the people who attended, especially, the politicians. They didn’t Tyre Nichols, so I’m finding it hard to believe they were that sympathetic.

It is funny how Kamala Harris used the occasion to tell people that the George Floyd act should be passed as if to say that if that act had been in place,  this wouldn’t have happened, let us not forget these officers had body cams. Moreover, if this was as important to her as she makes It out to be, she should be talking to her boss, not to the family who just lost a loved one.

Tyre Nichols

May this Gentleman Rest in Peace, he didn’t have to die, and the fact that we always have to use someone’s death to make a political statement is strange, also these are people who should have been politically responsible… The funny thing is that we don’t want to be treated as disposable, hell we cry every day and every night about being treated as though we are disposable, after everything we have been through, but then we treat each other just like the way we hate to be treated!

The Economics of Police Brutality http://selfequanimity.com/the-economics-of-police-brutality/ http://selfequanimity.com/the-economics-of-police-brutality/#respond Wed, 01 Feb 2023 01:44:11 +0000 https://selfequanimity.com/?p=1953 What is this the 1000th time?  Is anyone tired of this , like I am ?  another black man was brutally beaten by the police, this time all the officers who committed this terrible act were black, although they just fired a 6th person , he was white.

Now correct me if I’m wrong , but the usual will happen. First there is the protest, then the family will put up a gofundme, Ben Crump will move swiftly to settle the case. The president will call the family and even invite them to the white house, and here comes Ben Crump’s favorite part, The City/State will pay out a lump sum usually in the millions. Then everyone will go about their daily  lives like nothing happened. Does this sound familiar?

Its almost as if we want these things to happen so we get a big pay out. These settlements are tax payers money. I don’t know who we think we are punishing by taking this money? the white man ? white supremacy?  the Police ? the state ? we have to learn that you cannot punish an entity or  an institution, you can punish individuals though,  sure a few individuals will go to jail but the system remains the same.  let us remember this is not money from wall street, not money from big pharma, not money from big tech , not money from corporations, basically its not money from institution that systematically oppressed black people.  I will say it again , it is tax payers money.

This simply means money from some resource will have to be diverted to pay for this,  some family will be become very rich . These states are usually impoverished and yet somehow we will squeeze out millions just to give to one family as if to say it will bring their family back. lets take a look at some numbers shall we

  1. Tamir Rice $6 Million
  2. Freddie Gray $6.4 Million
  3. Laquan Mcdonald $5 Million
  4. Eric Garner-$5.9 Million
  5. Sandra Bland-$1.9 Million
  6. Mike Brown-$1.5 Million
  7. Trayvon Martin $1 Million ( undisclosed)
  8. Philando Castile  $3Million
  9. Sean Bell-$7 million
  10. Koryn Gaines (was supposed to $32 Million but a settlement was reached for $3 million)
  11. Alton Sterling $3 million
  12. Oscar Grant $1.5 million
  13. George Floyd $27 Million
  14. Breonna Taylor $12 Million

Yes brothers and sisters , $88 Million and counting , let us not forget, black lives matter founder Patrice Cullors became a millionaire by starting an organization for activism. Black lives matter got more than $90 million. Yes they got more money than the sum total of what the Victims got. Let us not forget Rodney King who was awarded $3.8 Million  who died of a drug overdose

Brothers and sisters, it is getting to a point where the difficult question has to be asked

Do We really want Justice ? Or a Pay out ????
