The thing about being, wealthy is that it is more complex than we make it to be, when it comes to money we have this lottery mindset!! we want to win the lottery big time, from $10,000 to $10 million, only then will it be ok, we don’t know about assets nor do we want to know. We don’t want to work to become wealthy, the sad thing about what we do as a people is that we do like to impress other people with the little money we have,  we buy clothes, and buy cars to impress people. The thing about rich people, they don’t have to impress other people. Rich people don’t have to impress anyone and tell anyone they are rich,  if they are,  you will know, and if you don’t know it is probably not meant for you to know. Our idea of rich or wealthy is usually a music video or comes from TV, or these days the internet ( which has replaced TV). We think what we see is everyday life for high net worth individuals. I ask a question, Can anyone tell me what car Jay Z drove yesterday? Or any of the rich people we know or want to become. We would see him in a music video though driving a Rolls Royce or a  Ferrari but we don’t know what he drives every day!  He might be able to afford a Rolls Royce, or any other car in real life  but is that his everyday life .. Nope here is something we need to consider

  1. Jeff Bezos, Amazon  Net worth $154.2 Billion, drives a Honda Accord  Base Model  Price $16,000
  2. Sergey Brin co-founder of Google, Net worth  $54.2 Billion drives a Toyota Prius, price $ 30,000.
  3. Larry Page  Co-founder  of Google, Net worth $55.5 Billion drives a Toyota Prius, Price $30,000
  4. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook Net worth $64.6 Billion drives an Acura TSX price of 30,000.00, he also has a Volkswagen Golf GTI hatchback
  5. Number 5 for me takes the cake, he may not be living with us anymore but he understood that a car is only meant to get you from point A to point B, This man was the founder of Ikea and he died in 2018, which means he could afford any of the nice things we see. With a Networth of almost $60 Billion he can buy any car he wanted, his name is Ingvar Kamprad. He drove a 1993 Volvo 240 GL until his death!!

I think we can learn a thing or two, from these guys, they understand money very well !!!! we should be learning from them

Money, Taxes and Politics http://selfequanimity.com/money-taxes-and-politics/ http://selfequanimity.com/money-taxes-and-politics/#respond Sun, 04 Oct 2020 06:42:50 +0000 http://selfequanimity.com/?p=985

Who is angry at Trump for paying fewer taxes than a school teacher ?? Don’t forget that anger is an emotion, so I should ask the question, who is emotional about the fact that Trump paid fewer taxes than a school teacher? I know I was when I heard about it. A lot of people were on the same page as I was. How dare the Billionaire pay fewer taxes than a school teacher, everyday hard-working Americans are suffering and the rich capitalist gets away with not paying taxes?? must be a republican, of course, Democrats are for the poor man, they would never do this, but WOULD they ???
Now I sat down to think Logically about all this, with a little mathematics on my side and of course the law I was able to break down certain things.
Does anyone Great Recession of 2008 and 2009, the very time that then-Senator Barack Obama took office After he and Senator John McCain have helped President George Bush give the big “Bail Outs ” to the banks? (which continued through the Obama presidency).
There was a law passed under the Obama government in the name of ” saving” the economy. The law ironically was called, “The Worker, Homeownership, and Business Assistance Act of 2009. This is a very interesting act because this is the very act that allowed Donald Trump to be able to pay low taxes, He was right that the law made provisions on that but it was handed to him by the very people that claim they have “our” best interest at heart. This ACT according to Politifact, Allowed net operating losses incurred by a business to be deducted from tax liability for up to 5 years. This is the very law Trump took advantage of that wiped out his Federal income taxes from 2005-2007. My emotions changed after doing some research on the rich.
The truth is the rich don’t have their money just sitting there as we regular people do. More often than not, all we have is as  regular people is our income, most of the time we are in a lot of debt, and our money is gone before it touches our hand, the rich, however, can afford to take very low salaries because they take  other forms of payment. Some very Wealthy CEO’s work for very little money, we wouldn’t want the salary they take but they are far richer than us. I was told by someone who helped me with my research that, if I’m confused about what I saw, then I don’t understand money, lets look at the salaries of some of the wealthiest CEOs.
Let us start with Bill Gates, with him I don’t know his salary but found out that he makes $22,881 per minute, that is a minute, not an hour not a year,

Larry Ellison (founder of Oracle)
Networth of $78.7 Billion
His Salary is $1

(I couldn’t believe it, how much income tax will he pay on $1)

Larry Page (Co-Founder of Google)
Networth $64.4 Billion
His Salary $1

Sergey Brin ( Co-Founder of Google)
Networth of $ 62.7 Billion
His Salary is $1

All this information made me look at rich people and business in a new way, One thing we must do is to get the emotion out of Politics and read between the lines, every one of these people who swear they are for the people take advantage of this system, and they will do anything to protect it, liberal or conservative, Republican or Democrat. The system pays them so why do we believe one over the other. All of them are millionaires and billionaires.
We have to look at money very differently now and do more research on what wealth is, what money is, how the system works. We must stop believing in talking points that are push our emotional buttons.

Follow the money , The economics of the current times http://selfequanimity.com/follow-the-money-the-economics-of-current-times/ http://selfequanimity.com/follow-the-money-the-economics-of-current-times/#respond Sat, 06 Jun 2020 00:19:33 +0000 http://selfequanimity.com/?p=467 In recent times we have seen demonstrators and people protesting an event.  A sad event that took place on May 25th. we are told that the protest is about inequality or system inequality. It is almost as if people are venting because of the “house arrest” that we were put under a few weeks ago.  Inequality is a very vague term.  The funny thing is people actually fall for Vague terms all the time, which is a problem in itself.

George Floyd

We complain about inequality but the question is, is it something we really want ? or do we really want what other people have and we will take it from them if we get a chance, and we don’t care who we sacrifice.  I have said this already about black men being the sacrificial lamb for millions to come into a family.  I’m going to ask very difficult questions  but ill ask anyway.  What good has come out of all this especially when it comes to George Floyd’s family.?  How many people really care about George Floyd?

Floyd Mayweather

Recently there was a memorial held for George Floyd. Mr. Floyd got a very start-studded funeral, most of them are just virtue signaling, they don’t really care about George Floyd. The funeral according to some sources was paid for by Floyd Mayweather, the former boxing Champion.  According to some sources the funeral Cost around $88,000.00.

Elon Musk

The rapper Ludacris, Comedian/actor Kevin Hart, and many more. Tyler Perry gave his private jet to Rev. Al Sharpton so he could “safely travel” to the funeral. Tyler Perry also provided plane service to George Floyd’s family. According to ET Kanye West is donation $2 Million for Floyd’s family and he is starting a college fund for Floyd’s daughter John Legend pledge $200,000.00.

Serger Brin

According to gofundme over $12 million has been raized for the George Floyd Memorial fund.  It has been a very interesting year. First, we were told to stay home because of an outbreak and then the protest happens and everyone forgets about the outbreak and goes out anyway risking their health.

Steve Balmer

The other side of the coin goes like this, since March, the top 1% have made over $500 billion. the top 1% have their wealth up by 19%. Mark Zuckerberg has made more money since March than any of us will see in our lifetime. People who have made extra money are

Elon Musk

Sergey Brin

Larry Page

Steve Ballmer

Meanwhile  40 million people  have filed for unemployment. (Most of them black) I don’t know about you but it should be alarming when there is a lot of money moving around …. usually when that happens people become poorer and nothing ever changes in the system. If we are being told that they are fighting for systematic inequality, systemic racism and they say everything is systemic, then we need such a thing like a systemic protest. We need to come up with a plan for systemic protest.  it has been done before.

Larry Page

Just protests in the street won’t change much.  Looting is even worse, it benefits certain interests that the sensationalism continues, it benefits certain interests that the violence and looting continue, there is a saying that Sex sells, well, so does violence if you don’t believe me take a look at Hollywood !!!!!!!!!
