THIS IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE, PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH

Everyone agrees that we live in interesting times, we have the pandemic, still going on restaurants were hit hard, the economy isn’t doing too well,  The federal reserve is going to print more money to stimulate the economy, and will create a boom,  for the inevitable bust in the future, not to mention the inflation that would be created, which will make prices of household goods go higher.  The economy is getting back on track, some states are reopening, people are going back to work, people are learning to live with the virus.

As I research financial recessions and depressions, I noticed one thing,  there is a lot of start-up capital being offered by the banks.   A lot of businesses were started during depressions.    So in every recession lies an opportunity to start a business or start something new, they call this the great reset. . we all know that one big part of stimulating the economy is making a lot of loans for small business,   startups, and businesses that want to make a come back. below is a  list of companies that were started during recessions.

  1. Burger King, ( was started in the 1950s)
  2. Microsoft ( was started during the 1970’s financial recession, was actually started in 1974-75)
  3. Fed Ex ( Started in 1971)
  4. Trader Joe ( 1958)
  5. General Electric ( 1892)
  6. General Motors (1908)
  7. IBM (1911)
  8. Disney (1929)
  9. HP (1939)
  10. MailChimp ( I’m sure most people are family with this, well it was started during the 2001 recession)
  11. Uber ( this is very common, it was started during the 2007 recession)
  12. Groupon ( 2008 recession

My friends, seem like in every recession there is an opportunity to rebuild, and start something new don’t get left out.. and don’t get used to receiving stimulus money just to pay your build.

Note that it doesn’t really matter which president is in office, the main thing the feds know how to do is print money, which they have done in almost every recession.

The Right Questions for our politicians http://selfequanimity.com/the-right-questions-for-our-politicians/ http://selfequanimity.com/the-right-questions-for-our-politicians/#respond Thu, 27 Aug 2020 06:44:38 +0000 http://selfequanimity.com/?p=828 I hope everyone heard what Ice Cube said,  I agree with Ice Cube 100%, for those who didn’t hear it,  Ice Cube said, after the DNC (Democratic National Convention)  he doesn’t say anything tangibles for black people. He is absolutely right, he said the same thing about the Republican party as well.  Ice Cube is on the right track because these are the kind of questions we should be asking.

I have gone to a lot of “woke” meetings where nothing was said, but people just “crying” about frustrations, in the form of poetry. Usually, the whole event turns into something like “spoken word” where we have a whole lot of poems, that is it. We still don’t encourage our children to take math and science very seriously, because the last I checked, it wasn’t the “ancestors” that build cities, it our mathematical and scientific know-how that build cities.  if what we are being told about Egypt is true, then the last time we built a city might have been 1000 years ago.    We can start from functioning neighborhoods where we can build, right now all we do is go and cry and come back to our non-functioning neighborhoods.

Ice Cube is right, if these people want our vote, they need to come up with a contract for us,  they can’t just see us as people who cry, and turn an event into “spoken word”  and poetry,  poetry never built anything, math and science do, we have used our math and science to contribute to other societies because we do not welcome them in our own societies,

I bet you that a lot more people know the name  Dr. Maya Angelou than they know Dr. Gladys West.  This piece is of no disrespect to Maya Angelou she contributed a lot to black society,  but she was a poet Gladys West, on the other hand, was a mathematician,  had it not been for Gladys West, we wouldn’t have Waze, google maps, etc.

Dr. Gladys West

She is known for a process called Satellite geodesy, according to Wikipedia, it is the measurement of the form and dimensions of Earth, the location of objects on its surface, and the figure of earth’s gravitational field by means of artificial satellite techniques. It is safe to say, without a doubt that Dr. Gladys West invented Global Positioning System (GPS). The sad thing is that people are so woke they don’t even understand the highly advanced mathematics this woman knew and will tell us with no basis that the earth is  flat

Surely you will agree with me that  Dr. Gladys west contributed more to society than Dr. Maya Angelou ever could. Again the is of no disrespect to Maya Angelou.  People talk about Nipsey Hussle, (May he rest in peace he was a talented artist), but hardly know about Idris Sandu, the designer of Hussle’s smart store in California.

Sandu designed a very sophisticated software for Uber,  the software is called, Autonomous Collision detection interface, a software that detects a driver’s hand motion, for safe driving.  This was pure mathematics and practical.

I do think there is a time and place for everything, and as we are still struggling to have a place to call our own we need more practical builders of society,  as for our political parties, we need a practical contract, not vague ones like what we are always given.

To end this Ice Cube was right,  we need to demand a contract,  hate, love, trust, all these things are just vague words, we shouldn’t be asking a presidential candidate for his love, we can save that love for our families,  or even his hate, love can just be as dangerous as hate,  we should be saying, ” You don’t get the vote if you can’t or won’t do anything for us, and it better be practical, because we want to see it.

I will say thank you to Ice Cube, we need more of our celebrities thinking like this.
