Which of these two would you say deserve a statue on Juneteeth,? Well if you ask me, I would pick Dr. Ben Carson, He has done much more to advance our society than George Floyd ever would. This man actually advanced science and saved some lives. We rather have someone like George Floyd, this is a man who held a black pregnant woman at gunpoint. I’m not saying he deserved to die, No one does, and he died in a gruesome way, but haven’t we gone too far ???? Dr. Carson performed a groundbreaking surgery and he repeated the procedure a few times for people to know it wasn’t just by luck, I think when it comes to surgeries, most will agree with me that no one would leave anything to luck or chance. It is almost as if we wait for our heroes to die before we recognize them, or we are told to recognize them. I believe in the latter, because we had 8 years of a black presidency, we still had to wait for the white man to make Juneteenth a Holiday… REALLY????? No one asked why that wasn’t done ?????

Now before I forget, we don’t agree with a statue of Dr. Carson because we don’t like him simply because he supports Donald Trump, and worked in Trump’s government. Never mind the fact he performed a groundbreaking surgery and he is still alive.
Think about it all George Floyd did was make money for organizations like Black Lives Matter. Aren’t we the same people who say the white man deliberately leaves out inventions made by black people, He perfected a kind of surgery that served as a blueprint for many years? This man built on the legacy of Dr. Vivien Thomas, the black man who cured the blue baby syndrome, we need to recognize this man regardless of his political ideology, he was a doctor first! Took an oath to save lives before he got into politics.
To end this, I think we should learn to appreciate our heroes while they are still alive, People who actually contributed to society. we should stop supporting people who became heroes by default.
