Others have started not taking a paycheck and ended up taking it after all, but these 3, donated their checks to charity. They said they were not going to take a paycheck or donate the whole check to charity, and they kept that promise. We all know that when individuals enter the white house, they come out richer than they were when they went in, like Obama and his family now live in an $11 million mansion. Bill Clinton made millions and so on, so they will benefit in some way, Some people are comfortable doing that because of the families they came from, everyone knows about the Kennedy family fortune, and then Trump also came from a rich family, Hoover made money in financing, etc. We are told Obama is a self-made man even though he went to the most expensive prep school in Hawaii.
After Bill Clinton became president, the presidential salary increased by $200,000.00
George W Bush took a Salary of $400,000.00
Barack Obama $400,000.00
This is just my opinion, for someone to refuse a $400,000.00 salary, tells me a lot about his character, I’m not saying that person is an angel, how many of us can donate our entire paycheck and go through the scrutiny that they have to go through every day, I’m not going to lie, if I was there I would probably ask for an increase, just for being insulted in the media every day, honestly in doing research for this piece, I expected this from someone like Obama since he was more a president of the people, a lot of black charities could have used at least $5000.00. Today he is able to afford a house worth $11 million.
A time has come for us to hold our politicians to task, and ask them the necessary questions, and really look into their backgrounds. if our politicians donate their paycheck, we as black people can give them a list of charities we want the money to go to, something as simple as that, Actually, we do have a chance with Trump, if he gets 4 more years, we can actually give a list to him of what charities we would want his next paychecks would go to, $400,000.00 is a lot of money, I’m just saying!!!!
On the Eve of the presidential debate, I’d like to point out something, On the campaign trail then-candidate, Trump promised that he will not take a salary if he became president of the United States of America. By law, the president has to be compensated for the work he does, which is $400,000.00 a year. So Mr. Trump takes a salary of $1, he donated his salary to the following organizations.

Department of Education
Health and Human Services
Department of Veterans Affairs
Small Business Administration
National Institute os Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism
Department of Homeland Security
Department of Agriculture
Us Surgeon General Office
Officer of the Assistant Secretary of Health
President Obama before him, always releases his income tax returns, those returns shows how much he and his wife donated to charity, the difference is that he is paying income taxes from his “salary” compared to Trump who donated ALL his salary to charity. So far he has kept his promise of not taking a salary, president Obama did donate his Nobel Prize winnings to charity, and also a portion of is Salary, but Trump joins presidents like John F Kennedy and Herbert Hoover when it comes to donating their entire salary to charity
